Passage: Luke 17:1-19
Summary: The events that unfolded at the Boston Marathon often lead to questions of why suffering and evil occurs so often in this world. The Gospel answers by telling us that we live in a fallen and sinful world that can never be restored by any effort of our own. However, Christ came to redeem and restore us to himself, making it possible to eventually live a perfect life in fellowship with Him. In our short time we have to live on this earth, He has made us free to extend grace, forgive, serve, and love mankind. Let your faith in Him take root in your soul and prepare for the work He sets before you.

Passage: Luke 16
Summary: How we view our possessions is a good indication of our faithfulness to God in our lives. When we are fully surrendered to God's authority, we become faithful stewards of our time, money, and especially in our relationships with others. Jesus warns us that eternal punishment awaits those who abuse riches, and refuse to repent and surrender themselves to God. The good news is that in Jesus' death this doesn't have to be our fate! Repent and follow Him, and He will lead us into eternal life
