There are many different times and seasons we go through in life: joys, sorrows, gain, loss, etc., etc. Ecclesiastes 3 provides a picture of the God who is sovereign over time, and calls us to stand in awe of him.
Will the wise life provide ultimate meaning? Is it reasonable to find lasting satisfaction in our work? Ecclesiastes 2:12-26 instructs us to enjoy life as a gift from God and live for his pleasure rather than worshiping other pursuits in life. How do we live for his pleasure? Faith.
If you get everything that you could possibly want, will you be satisfied if you don’t have God? Can you be satisfied in this life apart from God? True satisfaction is found only in God because all worldly pleasures are futile.
