Summary: The cross is the epicenter of God's story of redemption. The cross of Christ will either be a scandal to you or the wisdom and power of God to you. The beautiful opportunity for all people is to get over the scandal of the cross to receive the scandalous power of the cross. For those who do, their boast is in the cross of Christ alone.
Summary: Most of the time we think about sin being something around us rather than in us. Ecclesiastes 7:15-29 teaches us about the complexity and universality of sin. It also points out that the image of God in us has been distorted by our sinfulness. However, the gospel teaches us that Jesus is renewing the gospel in all who believe in him.

Summary: Will the wise life provide ultimate meaning? Is it reasonable to find lasting satisfaction in our work? Ecclesiastes 2:12-26 instructs us to enjoy life as a gift from God and live for his pleasure rather than worshiping other pursuits in life. How do we live for his pleasure? Faith.
Summary: If you get everything that you could possibly want, will you be satisfied if you don’t have God? Can you be satisfied in this life apart from God? True satisfaction is found only in God because all worldly pleasures are futile.

The Book of Ecclesiastes jolts us by declaring that all of life's pursuits are vain, meaningless, absurd, futile, and unreasonable. That is, every pursuit is pointless and unprofitable apart from God and his will for us. This series will show how Jesus makes all the difference.
